AIMS (Academic Internship Monitoring System) is a centralized platform designed to streamline and monitor on-the-job training (OJT) and internship programs in academic institutions. It provides faculty coordinators and administrators with real-time dashboards that display intern progress, attendance records, completion rates, and total hours rendered.
The system also integrates location-based check-ins, enabling accurate tracking of student attendance across different sites, along with detailed classifications such as on-time, late, undertime, and absent records. With dedicated dashboards for admins, faculty, and students, AIMS ensures transparency, efficient supervision, and data-driven management of internship programs from start to completion.
Note: AIMS 1.0 was a rushed prototype developed in February 2026 for personal use to support easier monitoring of student trainees. It was independently developed and was not fully deployed across any single university. A more structured and improved version, AIMS 2.0, is currently under development.
⚠️ Problem It Solves
Internship and OJT monitoring in many academic institutions often suffers from:
- Manual attendance tracking using logbooks or spreadsheets
- Delayed submission and validation of student reports
- Lack of real-time visibility on student progress
- Difficulty tracking total rendered hours accurately
- Inconsistent verification of student attendance
- Fragmented communication between students, advisers, and coordinators
- Time-consuming consolidation of internship reports
These issues make internship supervision inefficient, error-prone, and difficult to manage at scale.
💡 The Solution (AIMS Approach)
AIMS addresses these challenges by digitizing and centralizing the entire internship monitoring process:
- Real-time dashboards for instant monitoring of interns
- Automated computation of rendered hours and completion status
- Location-based check-ins for attendance verification
- Standardized classification of attendance (On-time, Late, Undertime, Absent)
- Dedicated portals for admins, faculty, and students
- Continuous progress tracking from deployment to completion
- Faster reporting and evaluation workflow
This reduces manual workload while improving accuracy and transparency.
What Makes AIMS Unique
- Location-based attendance validation instead of purely manual logging
- Real-time internship dashboards for all stakeholders
- Automated attendance classification system (not just raw logs)
- Multi-role system design (student, faculty, admin in one ecosystem)
- Reduces administrative burden significantly for coordinators
- Purpose-built for academic internship workflows, not adapted from HR tools
- Designed as a scalable upgrade path (AIMS 1.0 → AIMS 2.0 evolution)
You can check mine bro, we look like we have the same idea but somehow still have our own UVP. Overall, nice one bro✨
nicee sir, same goal, cool seeing similar project like AIMS. currently Im adding more on it covering pre-deployment- post deployment na rin for internship
I am one of the users of AIMS an Academic Internship Monitoring System, as a matter of fact it's so useful for me as a former intern. I have a great experience with using AIMS during OJT, the real-time dashboard was user-friendly and the time tracking feature kept me on track and on schedule. Additionally, it has a location tracker, so that the coordinators always knew if I am at my HTE ( Host Training Establishment) or to the place I needed to be during OJT hours. The system ease the student's frustration in logging in and out to their HTEs, where the system can also track if you're late. You can also automatically generate the report of your OJT performances that also saved so much of my time☺️.
anyone who'd like to collaborate with the project, and have access to its repository. you can message me on facebook. thanks :D
