SplitPals

SplitPals started from something that happens all the time with my friends. Someone always pays first, planning to get paid back later, but after a few days, nobody remembers exactly how much was owed. Sometimes the receipt is gone. Sometimes you're not even sure if there's still a balance at all.

As a university student who often hangs out with my barkada, I ran into this over and over. So I built SplitPals, not just as a project, but as something I actually use with my own friends.

Add what everyone ordered, and SplitPals calculates each person's share instantly. No spreadsheet, no mental math. Share a clean, receipt-style summary straight to your barkada, so nobody has to ask "sino may utang sa akin?" anymore. It works right in your browser. No app store, no download, just a quick Google sign-in.

SplitPals took early design inspiration from Tarsi, an app that I really admire. From there, I built my own direction: a corgi as the face of the app. It's not just there to look cute. The corgi is meant to feel like that one friend in the barkada who actually keeps track of who owes what, so nobody else has to. Loyal, a little nosy in a good way, always on your side.
