What's one piece of user feedback that completely changed your app?

I've been realizing that users usually don't tell us the exact feature to build—they tell us the problem they're experiencing.

One piece of feedback recently made me rethink how I designed my dashboard, and it ended up being a much better solution than what I originally planned.

Have you ever received feedback that completely changed the direction of your product? I'd love to hear your stories.

Yes. During my TestFlight release, one tester pointed out that my onboarding didn't clearly explain privacy. Since Lumio is a journaling app, they wanted reassurance that their entries stayed private. Instead of adding a quick fix, I redesigned the entire onboarding to make privacy a core part of the experience. After trying it, they told me, "I like what you did to improve the experience."

Another piece of feedback was about my paywall. Originally, writing for previous days required a subscription. Testers suggested allowing access to the last three days so new users could explore the app before paying. I realized this builds trust, reduces friction, and gives people a better understanding of the app's value before asking them to subscribe.

i can relate to this. i've been getting feedback on my own app recently, and i'm starting to realize that the best improvements come from understanding the pain behind the suggestion, not just implementing the request. thanks for sharing!
