Request brief

Overview

The goal of this project is to build a simple, secure, and easy-to-use web application for small communities such as subdivisions, villages, homeowners' associations (HOAs), condominiums, and similar organizations.

The primary purpose of the platform is to improve communication between community leaders and residents by providing a centralized place for announcements, events, documents, and important community information.

Unlike traditional community platforms, this system is designed to be as simple as possible. Residents should not need to create an account, remember usernames, or go through a registration process.

Problem Statement

Many small communities currently rely on Facebook groups, Messenger chats, Viber, printed notices, or word of mouth to communicate with residents. These methods often lead to:

  • Important announcements getting buried in conversations.
  • New residents not knowing where to find official information.
  • Community documents being difficult to locate.
  • Leaders repeatedly answering the same questions.
  • Information being scattered across multiple platforms.

This project aims to provide a single, official community portal that is easy to access and maintain.

Note: This idea was inspired by the community where I currently live. Communication within our subdivision is often disorganized because information is spread across different Facebook groups, Messenger chats, and other channels. While Facebook can be useful, it isn't designed to serve as an official community information hub. Announcements easily get buried, anyone can invite new members to groups, and there is no single trusted place where residents can access important information such as announcements, upcoming events, emergency contacts, community documents, or even basic statistics like the current number of residents or households.

I envisioned a centralized web portal that serves as the subdivision's official digital bulletin board. Instead of relying on scattered social media posts, residents would have one secure place to access accurate and up-to-date community information through a simple password-protected website. The goal is to make communication more organized, accessible, and easier for both community leaders and residents.
